How do we keep kids calm here?
James took the pediatric path because his own daughter hated her first dentist. He runs the kid side of the practice, stocks the sticker drawer himself, and books the first visit for free for kids three to five. We do not knock kids out for routine work.

Scope · in writing
What this service is, and what it is not.
What we do
- Free intro visit for kids three to five, parent in the room.
- Show-tell-do for every new procedure with kids.
- Sealants on permanent molars when they come in around age six.
- Schedule kids first thing in the morning, when they are fresh.
What we do NOT do
- Sedate kids for routine cleanings.
- Pressure kids into a chair they are not ready for.
- Schedule a long appointment when a short one will do.
Question 01
What happens at the first visit?
We walk the kid through the room. They sit in the chair if they want to. James counts the teeth, polishes if they let him, and sends them off with a sticker. Twenty minutes start to finish. It does not feel like a dentist visit and that is the whole point.
Question 02
When should my kid have their first dental visit?
Between age three and age five is the standard recommendation. Earlier if a parent has noticed something. The first visit is free for ages three to five with us, on purpose: we want kids to meet a dentist before there is a problem to fix.
Question 03
Do you do sealants?
Yes, on permanent molars when they come in around age six and again around age twelve. Sealants prevent cavities in the chewing surface of the back teeth. The whole procedure takes ten minutes and lasts about ten years. Insurance often covers it without a copay.
Question 04
What if my kid is really scared?
James will sit on the floor with them. We will spend twenty minutes letting them touch the mirror and the air. If that is all they want to do on visit one, that is all we do. The cleaning happens on visit two. There is no charge for taking it slow.
